Creative Team

Winton Club is very excited to welcome back this year’s very talented Creative Team:

Director:  Leslie Woodies

Born and raised in Boston, former Boston Ballet Soloist Leslie Woodies had the honor of working with Michael Bennett as “Cassie” in the landmark Pulitzer Prize winning New York Shakespeare Festival Production of A CHORUS LINE.

She covered Natalia Makarova, Kitty Carlisle, and Dina Merrill in the Tony Award winning Broadway production of ON YOUR TOES, directed by Mr. George Abbott; played “Flo” in THE MYSTERY OF EDWIN DROOD with George Rose and Karen Morrow, and created the role of “Kathleen” opposite John Cullum in DRUMWRIGHT!.

TV and Film credits include: ‘George’s House’ for PBS; ‘The Kennedy Center Honors’ for CBS; the film ‘Echoes’, directed by Arthur Seidleman; and ‘A Chorus Line – the Movie’.  She was a live-action representative for ‘Aladdin’ for Walt Disney Studios starring Robin Williams.

She has also had principal roles in the ‘I Love New York’ Industrials for United Airlines and Coca-Cola; her own ‘Reach Out and Touch Someone’ TV commercial for AT&T/New England Telephone; and has done live runway and print modeling, as well as voiceover work.

Listed in WHO’S WHO IN ENTERTAINMENT, Leslie has DRAMA-LOGUE and ROBBY Awards which include work for: Paramount, Lifetime, Disney, California Music Theater, the opening of the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza, and Industrials and Concert pieces.  She received  a 2002 IRNE Award Nomination for her local debut as Director/Choreographer of ‘Sweet Charity’.

A Director and Choreographer, Leslie does Private Coaching and teaches Master Classes in Ballet and Musical Theater across the country.  Currently, she is on the faculty of The Boston Conservatory, Harvard University, and the Boston Ballet School.  She is also the Director of the Quantum Leap Musical Theater Summer Intensives.

Composer: The Curse of the Bambino (CD available through www.bambinomusical.com), Jack the Ripper: the Whitechapel Musical, Comedy of Errors. Keyboards: Nunsense Jamboree (National tour with Georgia Engel, CD/DVD with Vicki Lawrence), national tours of Sunday in the Park with George, Dreamgirls, Guys and Dolls, and Les Miserables. Playwright: History and Rosie, the Teddy Bear (published by Brooklyn Publishers), Have a Seat, Please and Marvin and Julius (published by Heuer Publishing).  Excerpts from The Curse is Reversed! appear in Adam Emerson Pachter’s Further Fenway Fiction, published by Rounder Books.  Steven is the Choral and Drama Instructor for the Littleton Public Schools.    Love, as always, to my two ladies, Maryann and Emma – deedle-dee-dee-dee-dee.

Choreographer: Kirsten McKinney

Ms. McKinney received her BFA from the Boston Conservatory with a minor in choreography.  She is an award-winning choreographer who has choreographed over 160 shows.  Her work has been seen in Edinburgh, Scotland; Lincoln Center, NY; Carnegie Hall, Pennsylvania; and Jordan Hall; in addition to  the Emerson Majestic;  Speak Easy Stage Company; Commonwealth Shakespeare;  Sugan Theater Company; and Shakespeare Now! among many others. 

Ms. Mc Kinney has also been teaching in and around the Boston area for 15 years.  Some of the schools where she has choreographed and/or taught include Boston Conservatory, Emerson College, Brandeis University, Holy Cross, Walnut Hill School, Brookline High School, and Newton North and South High Schools.  Some of her former students can be seen on Broadway in CHICAGO and WICKED , in tours of HAIRSPRAY, and on the CBS drama ‘As The World Turns’.

Ms. McKinney is also a performer around the Boston area and throughout the country.  She is a principle dancer for the Sokolow Now! Dance Company, which keeps the legacy of Anna Sokolow alive and which is under the artistic direction of Lorry May.  Ms. McKinney has also performed as “Cassie” in A CHORUS LINE
